Hope For Dinner

Carlin said the purpose of the pitiful poor was to scare working people into working more. Not a penny to be made by tending to the ill and still our crooked ass culture sticks em all with the bill. That class gateway grows slimmer, the rich keep getting richer, class gateway grows slimmer, you can’t eat hope for dinner.
My father worked all day for 40 whole years, now he counts his retirement as his greatest fear. Shut the lights off on the day the business was sold, had that dotcom bubble pop and drop him into a hole- that class gateway grows slimmer, the rich keep getting richer, class gateway grows slimmer, you can’t eat hope for dinner.
Divide and conquer is the weapon of choice, you can hate your red hat neighbor for the use of his voice. And day by day I tire of that same old deceit, I know we bought it with our vote but shall we check the receipt?
That class gateway grows slimmer, the rich keep getting richer, class gateway grows slimmer, you can’t eat hope for dinner.
Class gateway grow slimmer, student debt balloons bigger, class gateway grows slimmer, my patience can’t get thinner.

Guess Who Wins

What wicked things my eyes have seen, what hearts I can't ever ease, damn the time that I have spent yanking on that which won’t bend. Pity the people who I meet who hear such strong intentions, but in the end rest in a hope they always find suspended. Things will be the same if we don’t change the rules of the game: in courts run by the kings, guess who wins.
What awful stories I have heard surpassing the absurd, damn all the fictional debates on things that cannot relate to the true nature of our time that finds us so paralyzed. Spooky future casts a shadow over all our lives, cause things won’t be the same since we changed the rules of the game: so the courts bow to the kings, guess who wins.
Guess who wins if the price cannot be paid to even try to play, the competition's just a shrewd charade. If the path cannot be passed if you don’t have the cash, will there or won’t there be a better way?
What big ideas I have inside this wide noggin of mine. But Leary said go find the others who want to discover the finest way to live our lives of oh so little time- to do some dignity to those who set our hearts alight. Cause things will surely change if we reshape the rules of the game- in the courts that check the kings- guess who wins.
